Image Study On Peasant In Farmeres Daily(2005-2015)

The Fifth Plenary Session of the 16th Central Committee of the Communist Party has convened, marking the new Socialist rural construction has entered a new stage. In the new stage, farmers’image in the media is also changing. Farmers Daily, a Chinese central-level newspaper for the national rural areas, is indisputably authoritative and representative on the issue of farmers. Through the analysis of the image of farmers in Farmer Daily, we find the farmers’image is in line with the actual situation of the farmers. The newspaper’s report is fair, showing the diversification of the image of farmers. At the same time, it shows the new development of new rural construction, the typical image of successful Chinese farmers. But there are still some deficiencies. The Newspaper is of a slight imbalance in the choice of characters and their occupations and behaviors, ignoring the farmers’family life.The exposure to problems of the farmer group is apparently inadequate. Therefore the supervision function of the newspaper is not obvious.
