A mature PDM system enables all participants to create, exchange and maintenance personnel in product design such as drawings and digitized documents, CAD files and product structure.This thesis has expatiated the definition, development and technical status of PDM(Product Data Management). On the basis of PDM system functions and technical analysis, it discusses the PDM functions and role in the enterprise, introduce conditions and ensure its implementation in the enterprise.The process of the two most important function modules product structure and configuration has been discussed deeply. And it’s helpful to build and implement enterprise PDM systems.
