Nowadays, the technology of radar develops very quikly. With the need of development of international situation and the need of battlefield, the period of development of radar is restricted as extemly short. But all kinds of uncertain natural factors greatly hinder the testing proceeding of radar in the out-field experiment. Radar target simulator greatly accelerates the development proceeding of radar system and promotes the rapid development of radar, and saves a lot of resource that is relative with test. Radar target simulator mainly simulates all kinds of characters of targets that detected by radar, including the distance between radar and target, the velocity, the amplitude fluctuation property, the shake of target and so on. To study these pivotal technologies of radar target simulator to simulate all kinds of characters of target, this master thesis mainly studies the simulation of target’s velocity and acceleration, the simulation of target’s distance, the simulation of target’s amplitude fluctuation property, the simulation of wideband target, the simulation of target’s micro-motion.This master thesis firstly simply introduces the background of creation of radar target simulator and the current development situation at home and abroad. And then it simply introduces the basic composition of radar target simulator system and several common kinds of transmitted waveform and four common kinds of target’s fluctuation property.Next, this master thesis studies the framework of radar target simulator. It respectively studies these frameworks that based on different buses and different processors. It simply analysises some characteristics of these frameworks with some relative framework block diagram. This master thesis comes up with a kind of radar target simulator framework and simply analysises it. At last, this master thesis analysises and contrasts some advantages and some weak points of these frameworks that based on different processors and different buses.Then this master thesis apartly studies the way about the simulation of point target’s common features, the simulation of wideband target, the simulation of micro-motional target. And it also makes use of Matlab and Modelsim to imitate and simulate. Because the rotation mode in the CORDIC (Coordinate Rotational Digital Computer) algorithm is widely used for generating sine and cosine waveform with some specific frequencies, this chapter simultaneously introduces the rotation mode in the CORDIC algorithm. The simulation of point target mainly includes the simulation of velocity and acceleration, the simulation of distance, the simulation of amplitude fluctuation property. The simulation of wideband target primarily studies the simulation of wideband target that based on scattering center theory. The simulation of micro-motion target chiefly studies the simulation of characters of target’s vibration and spin. During the simulation of micro-motion characteristics of target, this thesis separately comes up with two ways about the simulation of vibration and rotation. The two kinds of ways have been applied for national patent and they have been accepted so far.At last, this master thesis makes use of hardware platform in the laboratory to verify the simulation of target’s distance, amplitude fluctuation property, velocity and accelation.
