With the rapid development and extensive application of modern electronic technology,radar technology research has become more and more comprehensive,providing conditions for a fully functional and adaptive high-performance modern radar system.Broadband radar can extract more characteristic information from the target,and has superior performance in target recognition,distance imaging,super-proximity detection and anti-jamming,etc.It is one of the important development directions of modern radar technology.Therefore,higher testing requirements have been put forward for the development and commissioning of radar systems.Radar simulation technology can provide radar systems with test signals that are close to actual combat conditions.Not only does it effectively reduce the cost of research,testing,and maintenance of radar systems,but it can also independently test certain technical indicators of radar systems and discover potential defects and problems of the system as soon as possible,thereby shortening the research period of radar systems,saving research and development costs,and prolonging equipment life.This article based on the actual research project,using FPGA and IPC hardware platform,completed the wide-range long-distance target echo simulation,to achieve the radar echo simulator to meet the technical requirements.First,the basic principle of radar is introduced.The wide-range radar distance equation,the typical radar transmission signal and the target echo state are studied.The cross-sectional radar cross-sectional area and its fluctuation statistical model are mainly studied.Then,the theory of radar echo simulation technology is introduced.The composition of radar echo signals and the theory of multiple scattering centers are studied.The mathematical model of point target echo,extended target echo,deception jamming and noise interference signals are established.Finally,using the Vivado tool,the SystemVerilog language was implemented on the FPGA hardware platform: the digital frequency conversion technology was used to move the IF signal to the baseband,envelope detection and instantaneous frequency measurement were completed;the random sequence generation and the Box-Muller transformation were completed.Band-limited noise interference;using coherent video signal simulation method,based on point target echo simulation,completed four extended target echo simulations,each of which includes 8 high-resolution scattering points;,Speed Tow,and Distance-Speed Coupling to Trick Deception Signals of Three Interference Modes.
