From the end of twentieth Century to the beginning of twenty-first Century, there were two major developments in the field of Chinese society has brought about a considerable impact, and has aroused great attention.On the one hand is the rapid rise in the size of the elderly population and the proportion accounted for in the total population, "silver wave" blow on the face and come; on the other hand is towards the digital, interactive, moving in the direction of continuous update and expansion in high-tech driven, television, radio, newspapers and other mass media, the new media era quietly come.Everything in the world is connected with each other, the two development is not independent of each other, there is always such a close link to change our existing state of life.Along with the network technology development and people’s living standards improve, new media will in the lives of the elderly plays more and more important role, bring an unprecedented experience to improve their quality of life and enhance the enjoyment of life.And enhance the media literacy of the elderly, is the new media to give full play to its role and advantages of the key. Media literacy refers to the ability to use mass media resources correctly and constructively, and to make full use of the existing media to improve themselves and participate in social progress.With the increase of the population base, the number of Chinese elderly has reached a critical point, aging population has become a problem that China must face.The academic researches for the elderly are mostly concentrated in the pension, health care and other services for the elderly, accompanied by the aging problem is becoming more and more prominent, scholars gradually will focus to the elderly social value and the physical and mental health, how to let the elderly to better adapt to the society, in twilight stage play their own values for the benefit of society to get more attention.Since1996, the World Health Organization for the first time put forward the concept of positive aging, "active aging" has gradually become the world’s policy framework to deal with aging. Active aging and no will of elderly people is seen as a problem. On the contrary, it with a positive and optimistic attitude to treat aging, each country should not aging population as a burden to society, and should make full use of this trend, mining of value to society for the elderly, the elderly become the impetus of social development.On the other hand, the positive aging of the elderly also focus on their own physical and mental health, so that the elderly in the life of the twilight phase can behappy and enjoy life.In literature, analyze the premise, this paper to economic development, historical and modern fusion of Hangzhou City as an example, in Hangzhou over the age of 50 elderly people surveyed, according to the purpose of the investigation, the Hangzhou Shangcheng District, Xiacheng District, Gongshu District, Xihu District, Yuhang District, Xiaoshan District, Jianggan District and the riverside area of the eight regional research. The Hangzhou old people as the research object, by using the methods of literature review, content analysis method, depth interview and questionnaire method,combining communication and sociology content, media exposure of the elderly in Hangzhou were investigated, understand the contact of the elderly in Hangzhou and the use of new media in general, motivation and perception, psychological gray and, to the influence of new media on the elderly, and analyzed the characteristics of the elderly audience new media contact.According to the elderly in Hangzhou media usage summary under the Hangzhou city elderly people use new media the obstacles and difficulties, and puts forward solutions, for the development of Hangzhou city active aging career advice.
