With the development of the society and the improvement of life quality, people pay more attention to the health of themselves. Correspondingly, the demand for medical service has been improved, and they are no longer satisfied with the mode of traditional fixed and single diagnosis treatment. But now, medical monitoring system is still based on the traditional wired way, where complicated wiring and bulky size greatly limit to the action of patient and staff. At the same time, a large number of device probes attached to the patient will cause their emotional stress and psychological burden, lying in a certain deviation between the detection results and the real situation, and impacting exact diagnosis of the disease.Wireless sensor networks subsequently shipped out with the rapid development of sensor technology, wireless communication technology, MEMS technology. Due to low power consumption, large scale and self-organization, WSN has brought about a revolution in information perception. As the carrier of wireless sensor network, the emerging ZigBee wireless communication technology has been widely used in industry, agriculture, military and other fields, but also provides a new solution for medical monitoring.Aiming at the shortcomings of traditional medical monitoring system, a design scheme of medical monitoring system based on ZigBee wearable sensor has been put forward. The project focuses on the miniaturization of medical device and the wireless of medical monitoring. The system consists of three parts:the wireless terminal node, the network coordinator and the upper computer. In the ward, the wireless terminal node uses various medical sensors to acquisit the physiological parameters of the patient, and then they are transmitted to the network coordinator through ZigBee wireless network. In the monitoring center, the network coordinator communicates with the upper computer through the serial port, and transmits the received data to the upper computer. Finally, the whole system can realize the acquisition, processing, transmission, storage and display of the patient’ physiological parameters. Experimental results show that medical monitoring system based on ZigBee wearable sensor meets the design requirement and can realize the desired function. It has the advantages of miniaturization, wearable, wireless, multi function, and easy extension, which has certain reference significance and application value to the medical care and medical equipment.
