With the development of information technology and the growth in the living standard, smart city and smart home are paid more and more attentions all over the world. The intelligent lighting is an essential one of them.6LoWPAN protocol which has the merits of IP addressing, low power consumption and wide application is selected in the intelligent lighting monitoring system by analyzing some protocols used in the field of smart home such as 6LoWPAN, ZigBee, WiFi, Bluetooth and so on. The main works as follows are completed in this dissertation.The bottom network of the lighting system consisted of sensor node, control node and local remote control node is designed and implemented. At the same time, in order to provide lighting environment information to the control node and monitoring terminal in time, a sensor data service solution based on C/S structure is designed. Therefore, the status information can be obtained and feed-backed timely. Obviously, this solution not only is helpful to improve the performance of the lighting system, but also realizes the plug and play of the sensor node. This makes the system has a better robustness.The embedded gateway based on 6to4 tunnel technology has been designed and implemented. Problems such as data packets transmission, processing and so on which are caused by the heterogeneous network integrated 6LoWPAN network and Internet are solved through this embedded gateway. End-to-end communication between the remote monitoring terminal and the devices in the bottom system is realized. The extensibility of the gateway can be improved because the packets are forwarded in the network layer instead of the application layer. 6LoWPANd layer is designed and implemented to realize the communication between modules of Ethernet and 6LoWPAN.The remote monitoring terminal of the lighting system is designed and implemented. Based on Qt framework, common and advanced client software for individual and enterprise users have been designed respectively. The implementation of the common client software shows that the design is reasonable and usable. the detailed monitor messages in the lighting system have been designed by analyzing the communication process that remote monitoring terminal monitors the lighting system.Finally, a small intelligent lighting monitoring system has been built to test the function of the lighting system. Some monitoring experiments have been taken through the common client software. Results show that the design of lighting monitoring system is stable, adaptable, scalable and practicable. This lighting monitoring system can be used in indoor lighting, street lighting and other applications.
