With the development of radar and all kinds of high and new technology, radar has been more and more widely used in defense, aerospace, military, communications and so on. However, the function of radar is becoming more complex, this makes it difficult to test and verify radar equipment. Radar echo simulation technology arises at the historic moment. With the obvious advantages including convenience, flexibility, economy, repeatability, radar echo simulator has become a necessary tool for researching radar system to many institutions.This thesis was completed under the background of the XX radar echo simulator project that is dedicated to the airborne radar test. In this thesis, Firstly, the basic characteristic of the radar target was studied based on the theory. Then, the basic model of echo signal and interference was constructed combined with the project requirements, and several kinds of deception jamming model was discussed. Furthermore, the system composing of the whole project was analyzed, a set of complete system control software was designed and the realization of the software was completed. Finally, the debugging results of the whole system of the project were shown.XX radar echo simulator is so powerful that it can simulate the echo caused by target, clutter, and different interference at the same time. The control software of the simulator can be operated separately for each function, and the unified allocation mode is also applied to it, so the control software of this simulator is very complex. In this thesis, the idea of modularization was used to design the control software, the details of each module were discussed in-depth, including requirements analysis, structure design and the final implementation. Then the software flow chart of each module was shown, And the UML diagrams are used to explain the internal structure of each module in detail and the hierarchical relationship between some modules.The control software in this thesis in strict accordance with the software design idea of object-oriented programming, combined with design pattern and the three-tier architecture, following the principle of "high cohesion and low coupling", is more modular, systematic, and also makes it more convenient to upgrade and optimize the system. Adopting the principle of multithreaded programming and asynchronous communication, it can realize the data communication between different modules.
