Radar Signal Simulator has become indispensable technical equipment in radar system development and testing, because of its economic, flexibility and repeatability. The main objectives of radar signal simulation is to simulation of target echo and the environment echo. Simulation model of accuracy, versatility and flexibility are important indicators to measure the radar signal simulator to measure. Based on engineering services perspective, development multifunctional radar signal simulator software system that can simulate radar signals used, target echo , clutter signal and echo signal in VC++6.0 platform. And through the USB interface software, simulation system provides data sources to back-end simulator. In this paper, deeply research the modeling and simulation methods of echo and the clutter, and the USB interface.The main work summarized as follows:1. Deeply research the basis theoretical of the radar echo simulation, analysis modeling and simulation methods of the target, clutter and noise.2. Raised a modeling method of echo based on the distance gate, transformation the radar beam irradiation to the echo a certain distance gate echo modeling.3. Given Echo mathematical model in the different radar platform (airborne radar, ground radar) and different radar signals (conventional pulse signal, pulse compression signal), building corresponding simulation library in the software system.4. Completed the development of simulation software on the Visual C++ 6.0 platform5. Deeply research the USB interface, complete USB Driver design and USB data communication software.6. Completed software testing and software-hardware tests. The test results show that this software system functional achieved the expected objectives, operational stability.
