The simulation of radar target echo and environment echo plays a very important role in the design of modern radar system. This thesis analyses and simulates the statistical model of target echo and environment echo received by radar and raises a scheme in details.Firstly, this thesis discusses the methods of modeling and simulation of radar target, comparing six different kinds of fluctuant statistical model in amplitude, studying the method to generate an appointed fluctuant sequence, and then verifying the validity of modeling by analyzing the result of simulation sequence. Secondly, this thesis thoroughly presents the methods of modeling of clutter, analyzing the different statistical model in amplitude and power spectrum, and producing two clutter sequences which separately obey Rayleigh distribution and Log-Normal distribution by Zero Memory Nonlinearity (ZMNL) method. Thirdly, this thesis individually and briefly discusses the methods of modeling of chaff, presenting a simple model for simulation. Finally, this thesis primarily discusses the hardware and software design of the radar simulator system, proposing a new idea to implement the simulator by analyzing every critical module in detail and validating the feasibility of project.The simulator based on this thesis has some advantages, for instance, real-time data flow and high accuracy, and is available for radar debugging and testing.
