Radar is widely used in military and civil fields. Airborne radars provide the information of the target location and terrain data of land or water target, which realize the aerial reconnaissance and topographic surveying, observations of meteorological condition, air targets and terrain and surface features. In order to figure out the operation of different airborne radar, it is necessary to design a similar operating environment on the ground to simulate the operation of the radar carrying on aircraft. Thus, the design of motion simulation system of ground-based radar plays a very important role in the development of radar simulation system, simulation, testing and optimization.The mobile platform plays a very important part in radar test platform. Over the past few years, the mobile platform has developed rapidly, diversification of the use and the division of explicit make the rapid development of the mobile platform which need to test and optimize the products. The level mobile platform is one of the most important freedom of mobile platform. Level mobile platform is mainly divided into two categories, rail platform and trackless platform. Vehicle is the main representatives of trackless level mobile test platform. Rail vehicle is the main representatives of rail level mobile test platform. The horizontal mobile platform is the key of the freedom of the orbital field test platform radar. The main research contents shows as follows.Firstly, the mainly level mobile platform for the study of technology solutions was put forward, and the design and implementation of the rail system was completed. According to technical requirements and working environment, the paper chose trolleys mobile platform as the main forms of mobile radar test platform. A set of the rail system that satisfies the requirement of the top of the bearing was designed and implemented.Secondly, the mobile platform vehicle design, manufacturing and its assembly were completed. A set of mobile platform chassis conforms to the rail vehicle was designed. Through the analysis of ANSYS software, the design of the car chassis was improved, and the rationality of the design of the mobile platform chassis was verified by analysis of ANSYS software. The car body completed meet the requirements of radar test platform was designed, including housing, doors and box lid, etc.Next, mobile platform-driven system design, manufacture and assembly were completed. The choice of drive system of the mobile platform was achieved by calculation, the paper chose two-way drive motor drive form. The motor and reducer conform to the mobile platform technology parameters was chose by calculating. the design of the transmission mechanism of the drive shaft and the drive wheels manufacture and the drive shaft strength analysis and verification of the ANSYS were completed. The design of chain sprocket and chain, and the assembly of drive system were completed. Completed the design and installation of ancillary equipment of the mobile platform system, including the design and installation of the mobile platform positioning, the design and installation of drag chain and drag chain groove of the mobile platform, and the installation of cameras, etc.Finally, mobile platform was assembled and overall operational stability was verified. Through the analysis of ADAMS software of motion performance of the mobile platform, the stability of the mobile platform was verified. The overall assembly of the mobile platform was completed, and cooperated with the electrical system to debug the system of the level mobile platform, debugged the system of the platform by using radar. Ultimately a set of orbital outfield radar test platform which can be put into service was completed.
