Founded in January 1915, the " The Ladies’Journal " is one of the nine magazines published by Shanghai Commercial Press, focus on the lives of women was its central editorial policy,covering a wide range of magazines, including women’s education, children’s education, housekeeping, women’s employment, love and marriage and other problems faced by women in the family life, and its highest sales volume has reached million every month, its issue halls built all over the country, had a profound impact on the modern women’s ideological emancipation. However, in December 1931, Shanghai Commercial Press was bombed by Japanese," The Ladies’Journal " was forced to discontinue. From 1915 to 1931, the seventeen years of glorious history of " The Ladies’Journal " is compelling, it was founded in the turn of the old regime, forced to discontinue in the height of the movement of women’s ideological emancipation, witnessed the enlightenment, development and climax of the history of Chinese women thought. It’s the first historical large publication in the Chinese modern women history.In the thousands years of feudal society in China, decadent brutal ritual system made people suffer, which most oppressed was the group of women. Chinese women had been bound by feudal male chauvinism, self-identity consciousness had been in a patriarchal stage, the awakening of individual consciousness was also dominated by men. It was under the influence of the deep-rooted male-centered social thought, Chinese women’s rights in political, economic, cultural and social life were deprived, no social status. Early 20th century, the Chinese feudalism foundation disintegrated gradually, the door was opened by world powers, country had been bullied, Chinese people began to seek for the way to the wealthy and power for the nation. "The Ladies’ Journal" was founded in the ideological background, had been fighting for the equal rights for women, and striving to achieve national self-reliance and independence.Based on this background, I want to study the text of" The Ladies’Journal "in the period of Hu Binxia, analyze Hu Binxia how to help the groups of women get rid of the fetter of feudal traditional thoughts through such a media platform, and through the study on " The Ladies’Journal "edited by Hu Binxia to summarize the advantages, giving modern women journal some enlightenments.The paper consists of introduction, four chapters and conclusion.The first chapter is to introduce the "The Ladies’Journal" social and cultural background. The first section, introduce "The Ladies’Journal" background from the foreign first wave of the feminist movement and national liberation awakening of women. The second section, combine the domestic social background when " The Ladies’Journal " was founded by Shanghai Commercial Press and the foreword published in Volume No.1 to analyze the " The Ladies’Journal " publication purpose. The third section,, based on the previous researches in "The Ladies’Journal" in different periods, adopt the majority of scholars’opinion to divide into three phases: the period changed stably, the period changed radical, the period changed literarily.The fourth section, summarize the social status of "The Ladies’Journal" from its publication time, range of the issue, content category.The second chapter is the key of the paper, do a specific research on " The Ladies’ Journal "edited by Hu Binxia, summarize Hu Binxia was how to help groups of women get rid of the feudal fetter. The first section, by studying the life of Hu Binxia, her family background and experience of study abroad to analyze the change of her liberation thoughts. The second section, although Hu Binxia had a rich experience of study, enlightened women thought, the general population of women were still oppressed by feudal thoughts, women bounded ideologically, ravaged physically, social rights were limited. The third section, analyze the specific practices by " The Ladies’Journal "edited by Hu Binxia, research Hu Binxia was how to help women to emancipate the mind, find " The Ladies’Journal "enrich women’s family life, lead the women to emancipate the mind, establish role models, provide a sound platform for women, broad global vision, help the women get rid of the fetter step by step.The third chapter, compare the "The Ladies’Journal " edited by Hu Binxia and the same period of Wang Yunzhang, to analyze the advantages in the period of Hu Binxia. The first section, through the comparison between the two periods, get the same points and the differences between them. The second section, depending on the analysis, summer up the features in the period of Hu Binxia:First, she concerned about women, not only about the female authors but also about women readers, and second, her liberation thoughts not only enlightened and firm. The third section, although " The Ladies’Journal " edited by Hu Binxia lead women get rid of the shackles of feudal thoughts, in order to resolve the national crisis, influenced by the strong male chauvinism, " The Ladies’Journal " edited by Hu Binxia still had some limitations:the recognition of the status of women was limited in family life, without taking into account the individual independence of women liberation.The fourth chapter, basing on the study of the other three chapters, get some practices should continue to be used by modern women publications. The first section, summer the problems occur in modern women magazines briefly:Female images be "commercialized". The second section, summarize the inspirations can be used by modern women magazines from the period of Hu Binxia:First, to maintain the "female" character, do not use the images of women to attract men, should service for women sincerely; second, focus on practical content, "content is the key",close to the live of women; then, provide sound platform for women, take the right of public opinion in women field initiatively, so that women no longer be "silence"; and finally, promote female shoulder the social responsibility, in the fight for equal rights, we must also take the social responsibilities together with men, have a sense of justice, do the members of society.
