When "the characteristics of the new era is the world’s completely into the image", we began to explore original image of the world. The Ladies’Journal (Issued Monthly) had1200pictures, it as a window to explore the history of the republic of China. Record the ideological revolution in China’s modern history by the unique way.This paper is devoted to the study of the rich image resources of The Ladies’ Journal. Compared with text, pictures in the form of a more intuitive and vivid reflect women’s living conditions at that time. In this paper to interpret from a perspective of visual culture about photography, painting, advertising images in the women’s magazine. Analysis each kind of picture form because of its unique imaging method and bring real, shape, and lively personality. The article probes into the social source of the female image’s mechanism on The Ladies’ Journal. This article mainly takes qualitative analysis, take the literature survey and inductive analysis, selected the1200pictures from The Ladies’ Journal to study and summary.The full text divides into five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, a brief overview of this topic, research meaning and purpose, research framework and research methods. The second chapter is the collation of photography picture information in magazines, starting from the characteristics of photography, study of female images of the republic of China in the photography pictures. The third chapter is the collation of painting picture information in magazines, starting from the characteristics of painting, study of female images of the republic of China in the painting pictures. The fourth chapter is the collation of advertising picture information in magazines, starting from the characteristics of advertising, study of female images of the republic of China in the advertising pictures. The fifth chapter conclusion The Ladies’Journal shows multidimensional images of women during the period of the republic of China.
