The year 2015 is the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese Anti Japanese War and the World Anti Fascist War. In the morning of September 3rd, we celebrates a new national holiday to honor the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II with a massive parade on Tiananmen Square, under the blue sky, with grand parade and equipped soldiers, the enthusiasm of the audience, all of these are reflecting the vitality of China. The great victory of the Chinese people’s Anti Japanese war is the first complete victory in modern times of China against the foreign invasion, which made important contributions to the victory of the World War II. To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people’s Anti Japanese War and the world anti fascist war, this parade not only has important historical significance, but also reminds us of the war. It is a painful lesson for the younger generation, it helps them cherish the peace, which did not come easy. Choosing "the Wall Street Journal", "the New York Times", "the Times" as representatives of the three major western mainstream media on the parade reports which launches the analysis to Van·Dijk’s discourse analysis theory as the foundation, combined with the investigation and statistics, text analysis method in this paper.Firstly, the text structure of discourse is discussed from the view of micro - high frequency vocabulary and proposition group. Undoubtedly, these reports describes a true frames in front of the audience, but the lines of the reports are inevitably reflected western society under the background of different value view. They always use the existing stereotype on the Chinese national image. However, with Chinese on-going improvement of international status, the attention of the western countries has been high, such as the parade, the major Western media have been reported. More major events in the future, the western media will continue to follow the reports. Related research shows that the western view of China, the main source of the television, network, newspapers and books. Due to the imbalance of the world political and economic structure, there are a lot of unbalanced phenomena in the international communication, although the dominant position of the western developed countries is obvious. Last but not the least, through the discourse of the mainstream Western media reports related to China’s military parade on September 3rd, and understanding the western media of China’s news discourse construction, we can understand our country’s image in the eyes of western media, and do the propaganda report better.Due to the limited level of the author, this study still exist many deficiencies, I hope that the study in the future can gradually make up for this shortcoming.
