With development of digital information technology and improvement of the person’s awareness in security, the demand for surveillance systems is increasing rapidly. Squares, buildings and families need to have many monitoring equipments. Monitoring equipment will be relatively rapid development from the application of traditional analog surveillance equipment to apply standard definition digital monitoring equipment, and until now the development and application of high-definition digital monitoring equipment. Not only it reflects the demand for monitoring equipment in social development, but also it reflects the important role of monitoring equipment in modern social development.Now, high-definition network camera penetration rate is increasing. The performance requirement of high-definition network cameras continues to improve, especially in low-light environments of high-definition cameras demand for more and more obvious. At night on the highway to capture license plates of toll stations, HD network camera under ordinary mine ultra-low-light environment monitoring, tunnel monitoring and other low-light environments are not well render the scene, the camera’s low-light HD demand is made.The main work of this thesis is to rely on Vimicro’s an ultra-low-light image capture chip VC0201 and VC0710 ISP chip to design a study to provide a clear surveillance video at ultra-low-light situations HD network cameras. The Thesis includes low illumination intensity camera to be design theory research on the webcam overall program design and to complete hardware schematic design of the overall system, matching the design of PCB design for manufacturability to produce, related systems software design, lens, and day and night switching systems, as well as access to the camera, cooling and security other aspects of the design work. Finally, the ultra-low-light HD webcam research content and direction of development put forward their views.
