Currently, the rapid economic development accelerates the increase oftraffic mileage with China’s rapid economic development. However, it alsoaggravates the cost and difficulty of traffic management. Therefore, it has greatsocial value and market value to raise the level of management automation and toreduce the management costs. The video surveillance system, which combinesthe digital multimedia technique and the embedded technology, can effectivelyimprove the automation level of traffic management. Meanwhile, the rapidexpansion of urban provides the vast market of the application of videosurveillance system.The camera in present monitoring system mainly uses the CMOS sensor.Multiple embedded chip manufacturers provide support on CMOS sensor driver.At the system level, China Telecom Corporation provides the “global eye”monitoring system service. Users can receive high quality monitoring picture aslong as they access the Internet.A high-definition camera system is designed in this dissertation. Thiscamera derived from the specific Intelligent Transportation System project. Adual-core processor TMS320DM6467T is used, which is produced by TexasInstruments. The hardware of this system is constructed by integrating theprocessor, audio and video processing circuitry, memory, programmable logicsand other modules. System can achieve high-definition video signal processing.User interface development can be processed by using the modules, whichprovided by the processor. The schematic and package are drawn with Cadence,and the software testing of hardware circuitry is accomplished using CCS.For the software of this system, the development platform is installed usingthe software development kit, which is provided by Texas Instruments. UserBoot Loader, Universal Boot Loader and the Linux kernel are implanted into thesystem. The system development environment under the host platform isaccomplished and is tested. Meanwhile, the driver interface of the Linux videoprocessing is explored. The driver of capture port of the system is developed andtested successfully. The system can process the720P@60fps HD video signal. Itcalls the H.264algorithm to encode and decode the video signals, allowing realtime displaying of external video signals and user information on the OSDwindow.The real time displaying of external video source signal and userinformation on the OSD window is realized. This work targets for the camera technique development of networkmonitoring system. The system presented in this dissertation can provideplatform support for the Intelligent Transportation System project.
