Regional food-tasting programs face new opportunities and challenges in the age of new media. This thesis tries to study this kind of TV programs in four chapters. We explain the concept of the keys words like “regional” and “TV food-tasting program”, etc. With the knowledge about the tendency of new media technology rising and media convergence, we discuss medium ecology in the age of new media and the impact of medium ecological environment changing on regional food-tasting programs.With the study of the classic program Chi BaFang(To Eat All Around) of Sichuan TV, this paper argues that there are two reasons why TV food-tasting programs are now turning to new media. The subjective reason is the guidance of academic trend and the objective one is the reform of new media technology. The paper illustrates the program’s practice on new media in there aspects, including the use of web portals and search engines, the analysis of typical media forms in the age of web3.0 and the development of We Media platforms.The third chapter mainly discusses the program’s practice on new media according to the reasons of its new media reform. Based on the program’s communication effect,this paper points out its success in web portals and search engines, information publish on We Media platforms, media convergence, investment on vehicle and outdoor advertising, the combination of program advertising and business promotion. Besides,we also analyze its weakness on the inadequate knowledge of the cost and use of media form, outmoded notions and the conflict between new media and traditional media.In the end, we think about the regional food-tasting programs in the age of new media and stress the importance of exact positioning the audience and the necessity of the combination of new media and traditional media, and the grasp of regional notionswhen making TV food-tasting programs.
