Research Of Stereoscopic Video Comfort

Stereo video technology is booming development. Video recording,compression, transmission, display, evaluation technology is becoming a hot research.Compared with a flat-screen video, stereoscopic video can provide not only the color of the subject, the brightness, shape information, but also add the information of depth to the audience to give the audience a new visual shock immersive feel. But at the same time, three-dimensional video viewing has also brought a series of problems, inappropriate recording, production methods will make the video some damage, causing the audience watching bad reflection, there will be dizziness, decreased vision of uncomfortable feeling even health problems.Accordingly, the stereoscopic video Comfort Evaluation becomes particularly important.However,since the development of stereoscopic video is rapid, the factors affecting the comfort is complex, no matter the noise which is introduced by video compression and transmission or distortion due to demodulation, and brightness, color, contrast, textures, parallax contained by stereoscopic video content itself, are all should be taken into account when study stereoscopic video comfortable degree. Currently, the study of comfort is still in the exploratory stage,scientific research and industry standards did not form a unity in domestic and foreign, stereoscopic video comfort research can not only provide a reference for scientific research but also for the industry to provide standardized production.This paper introduces the research status of current development of stereoscopic video and stereo video comfort evaluation; next describes the principle of formation of three-dimensional vision of the human eye, human eye characteristics, and now the existence of a stereoscopic video display; then Details the video shows the three-dimensional set comfort subjective evaluation needed equipment and itsparameters, required viewing material, viewing environment, as well as in the evaluation process and criteria must be strictly complied with; finally in order to evaluate the comfort of stereo video better, provide an objective measure for the degree of uncomfort which may be caused before being viewed, in this paper, writergive two models of stereo video comfort perception.The first is like this :the motion characteristics and three kinds of parallax of the object are put forward as the important factors affecting the stereo video comfort.Firstly extract four influential factors of the stereo video comfort, including intra-frame ’s parallax of significantly objects, intra-frame ’s parallax of related background, movement variables and parallax between frames,then combine the theory of depth perception and least-square fitting method to establish an evaluation model, finally use the subjective evaluation method to assess the model. Thus we obtain a method for stereo video comfort evaluation. the second is like this : Refer the parallax as the main influencing factors when human are viewing stereoscopic video and make the contrast as compensation for evaluating stereoscopic video comfort. Firstly, graphic segmentation method used to separate foreground and background,use scenes related significantly regions extraction method extracted the salient region,extract the salient region parallax and the contrast from the foreground and background.Then, combine with depth perception and least square fitting method to establish evaluation model. Finally,use the subjective evaluation methods to evaluate the model, hereby a method for three-dimensional video comfort evaluation is got.Validation which is got by subjective evaluation shows that these two evaluation method are both basically the same as stereoscopic vision of the human eye,the model proposed can be a good simulation of the human eye’s subjective feelings, provide comfort considerations for the further study on the human eye viewing stereoscopic,and it is important for the study of the human eye stereo video viewing comfort.
