Since2010, stereoscopic technology of display intrigued public attention onceagain and developed fast during these years. However, people are still not satisfiedwith many aspect of it, such as the quality of3D content, stereoscopic sense of visionand visual comfort of viewing stereoscopic content. One of the most important issuesof its development is the problem of visual comfort. As the imperfection of stereoscopic technology of display and complication ofhuman visual system, there are still no uniform criteria to judge the visual comfort inChina. In order to find out the factors of affecting visual comfort, the research testedand analyzed both glasses-type stereoscopic display and autostereoscopic displaysystems. With regard to different image display principle of glasses-type stereoscopicdisplays, this thesis gives factors of visual fatigue. Based on testing data, someperformance indexes related to visual fatigue have been analyzed, such as luminance,turn-off ratio, contrast, luminance uniform and chrominance uniform. Forautostereoscopic displays, crosstalk, visual angle, moiré, luminance difference andchrominance difference have been considered. The research also proposed theirtesting method.Furthermore, the research also designed animation of motion-in-depth andconcentrated on the issue of imbalance between accommodation-convergence causedby motion-in-depth on stereoscopic displays. The research broke through thetraditional subjective and objective assessment method and used ERP of EEG toanalyze and assess visual comfort induced by that. The experiments results indicatethat animation with faster speed affected human brains more because it needs a morecomplex processing to react that, which caused a larger peak value in ERP results.
