The Construction Of Fashion Design Material Library Based On The Requirement Of Small And Medium-sized Brand Enterprises

Since the Internet was founded, information technology has prompted all industries to have significantly great changes. And the clothing industry, a traditional industry developed from the primal handicraft industry, is also under the influence.As the information spread speed is faster and faster, there is increasingly number of material websites that are related with costume design. Professional design material library aiming at the requirement of small and medium-sized brand enterprise designers will be an essential aspect and the trend of future development, which will also offers more benefits to the future development of small and medium-sized brand enterprises.With contemporary circumstance as background, costume design-related material websites are classified and compared to conclude their advantages and disadvantages at the very beginning of this paper. Then costume design material library’s rising development tendency is concluded from three major changes,including current economic condition, fashion tendency and costume designer participation form. Finally it is summarized that there are some common problems when small and medium-sized brand enterprise costume designers are using costume design material library, such as poor design material practicability, incomprehensive information, not supporting user communication and interaction, which are the problems to be solved in this paper.The division scope of current small and medium-sized costume enterprise is defined in accordance with historical background and enterprises are divided into four categories, “costume design studio”, “self-marketing costume enterprise”,“clothes combination-based costume enterprise” and “clothes customization store”based on the property of small and medium-sized costume enterprises; then characteristics and development advantages of present small and medium-sized costume enterprises are analyzed, and common design of enterprise costume designer is concluded into “novel design”, “deformable design” and “reusing design”.Finally existing problems and barriers when small and medium-sized costume enterprise designers are using costume designing material library are proposed,including low pertinence of design material and complexity of material obtaining method, which is also the focus of this paper.At last, questionnaire is carried out to investigate small and medium-sized costume enterprise designers and data analysis is made based on collected samples to find out the real requirement of small and medium-sized costume enterprise designers on design material and other parts that they desire to realize on the platform, including “costume design picture material requirement”, “costume fashion information requirement”, “audio and visual requirement”, “”interaction and communication requirement” and “professional design material customizing requirement”. Then these requirements are based to realize the construction of costume design material library. Moreover, material library column setting is also from the perspective of enterprise designers.The costume design material library material construction method based on the requirement of small and medium-sized costume enterprises stated in the present paper has already been implemented in China leather design creativity service platform. On one hand, the platform provides enterprise designers with abundant picture material, latest industry fashion information and valuable audio and visual material; on the other hand, the platform also offers active online interaction platform, where designers can upload their personal creative works conveniently and put forward their points to these works. Meanwhile this paper also put some suggestions to the promotion of platform in the future.
