Si Ku Quan Shu Zong Mu is the largest official catalogue of books in ancient China, which represents the greatest achievement in bibliography of the Qing Dynasty. Scholars not only use it as an essential reference book for learning about the ancient books and traditional culture, but also research it from various angles. There are so many mistakes in this voluminous work because it was completed by many people and had been modified repeatedly in the long process of compilation. In addition, the political factors were at work. For more than a century, plenty of research findings focus on the study of its completion and correction of corruptions in its text have been published already. But the argument about the two primary versions, WuYingdian version and Zhe version, still have no conclusion. The only way to gain a clear idea of which one is better, is to compare and analyze the differences between them. Since the proofreading of predecessors is not perfect enough to provide reliable evidences, this paper centred on Jing branch to carry out textual research on the written words in order to show the distinctions as clear as possible and point out both the reasons and judgements of the written differences. This paper finds out nearly 4000 differences of two versions, then correct 528 corruptions involving character, literature and quotation by proofreading with three kinds of epitomes, as well as HuiYao and other relevant historical books. There are almost 100 corruptions left apart from those which has been corrected in the latest research of Zong Mu. In addition, this paper also correct the mistakes in quotation of the compiling version. By proofreading the two versions, obviously, there are much more mistakes in WuYingdian version. Although it is the final edition after repeatedly modification, it still lack collation. And Zhe version, which had been proofread seriously by southern scholars before publication, is a better version with less textual errors. The two versions with their advantages and disadvanteges are complementary.
