In the new century, the population continue growing and the available arable land is increasingly reducing. Coupled with the deterioration of the environment and the frequent natural disaster, food demand is crisis and food safety problems occur frequently. And the people working in the harsh environment in outlying area have green leafy vegetables supply issues in daily life, due to the perennial lack of sunlight. These factors make people have increasingly strong desire for green health food especially green leafy vegetables.This paper presents a design scheme of the environmental monitoring system of the green leafy vegetable growing cabinet based on STM32. The working principle of the system is introduced. The hardware circuit and the software design of the system are completed. The system is a closed environment monitoring system, it can monitor temperature, humidity, CO2 concentration, light intensity and other parameters in real time through various environmental sensors. The core components of the monitoring system use the STM32F103RC chip to deal with the various collection parameters. Though comparing with the set environmental parameters and giving a variety of control instructions, the system ensures that the working environment achieves the best level for green leafy vegetables. Keil uVision4 software is used to complete the programming and debug for modules like data acquisition, data processing, data transmission and control instructions.The whole system is debugged and tested, and the test results show that the system meets the design requirements. It can meet the environmental monitoring requirements for the green leafy vegetables. Compared with the existed plant growth cabinet, the reliability and scalability of the system are improved by the modular design.
