With the constant progress of the modern agriculture technology, the plant factory and related technology have been rapidly developing, the development of plant factory not only meets the needs of food quality,but also has far-reaching significant in various problems, such as the reduction of cultivated land, the deterioration of the natural environment, food shortages and other social problems. The improvement of intelligent degree in plant factory also brings higher requirements on its monitoring system.In recent years, the embedded application product has been widely used in network monitoring, industrial automation, communications and other fields, its market is becoming more and more wide. ARM processor has many advantages such as low power consumption and high processing speed, it is very suitable for application in the embedded products; The characteristics of the Linux system are open source and flexible development, which makes it become one of the mainstream embedded operating system. The combination of ARM processor and Linux operating system is also widely been used in embedded monitoring system.This paper designed a kind of intelligent monitoring system based on embedded system for the environment of the plant. The whole system is composed of two parts which are terminal controller and central controller, its function is to realize the environment parameter acquisition, image acquisition, the LED plant light supplement, data transform data storage and users access. Terminal controller is mainly composed of STC90C51 single-chip microcomputer, sensor and LED lamp panel control circuit, which is used for the detection of temperature, humidity, the concentration of CO2 and the control of artificial light source for lighting plants. The design of central controller uses ARM11 processor combined with Linux operating system. Central controller is mainly responsible for the tasks such as image acquisition, data storage, and interaction with the user. The data transmission between terminal controller and central controller uses the serial port communication.This design transplants the SQLite database in Linux system, which is convenient for the management of data storage; By setting up Boa embedded server in Linux system, LAN users can access the server through a Web browser, and monitor carbon dioxide concentration,temperature and humidity. This system used the webpage as monitoring interface to realize the dynamic interaction by CGI interface.
