21st century is the information century, with the continuous improvement of living standard, people assert a higher claim of home life quality. However, how to imply the latest research achievement in information industry to build a comfortable and harmony home surroundings gradually appeals people’s favor. In addition, in recent years as the internet of things and intellectual city construction, video monitoring technology in smart home become a research hotspot. Video surveillance as an important part of intellectual domestic system also makes a significant effect on security and protection.Aiming at traditional domestic video monitoring system, on one hand, most are based on PC, If the industry video monitor system is transplanted, it’s degree of intellective and function all are not suitable for home life well. On the other hand, this monitoring system exposed many deficiency in using, such as expensive price, big volume, high power dissipation, complicated wiring and ugly shape, put forward an intellectual domestic video monitoring system by flush bonding. The whole system mainly extrude two advantages in order to satisfy personal user and small case real time monitoring, firstly, installment and maintenances will be easy; secondly, the price will be relatively low. The paper chooses the most extensively applied at present and the relatively cheap ARM9 processor, also using open source embedded operating system to transfer the visual collected signal of the USB camera by the net, after that, which can transit wireless signal of AP and reveal in the phone client through web servers to get and build wireless hotspot in order that we can monitor a family and an small occasion in real time.This design centers on JZ2440v2 and S3C2440 A to develop embedded system by using hardware platform. Firstly, the thesis introduces the developing trend and research status of video monitoring system and elaborates the research content. Secondly, it introduces the development platform of embedded system from two aspects, the hardware platform and software operating system, states in detail the whole frame of hardware system; it introduces the transplant of embedded operating system, including the starting rule of Bootloader, the running procedure of U-boot and the modification, compile and transplant of Linux core to build file system. Finally, this thesis introduces the driving system of USB camera, choosing module of Wifi network card and building a wireless hotspot which eventually realizes the video transmission between sever and cell phone client.
