The Design And Implementation Of Data Warehouse For Telecom Business Support System

Since entering the information age, data has rapid growth with an unbelievable speed. How to keep the market share and further expand in the fierce market competition has become the main problem of the telecommunication company. Data warehouse is to provide support for the strategy of enterprise data collection. In order to analysis the reporting and decision support purpose. Though establish the data warehouse, we can realize the flexible access data from different business system. Then realize information sharing among different systems. Data warehouse can provide business intelligence to improvement business process and monitoring time, cost, quality and control for enterprises. How to effectively construction and implementation the data warehouse is the major problem of this paper. In this paper, we design a data warehouse for the business support system and according to the characteristics of this industry we give an effective construction method.This thesis is on the background of domestic and foreign. Finished the system needs analysis, detailed design and implementation. Focus on the study of various problems in the implementation of the ETL process. Firstly, understand the characteristics of various concepts in data warehouse, learning the main contents of the business support system, so as to obtain business theoretical foundation. Secondly, specific on the design of needs analysis and outline design. Completed analysis of the data warehouse architecture diagram, make the data warehouse design structure of five layers, data source layer, data collection layer, data layer, application layer and presentation layer. After conceptual model design, logic model design, physical model design, completed the model design of data warehouse. This paper is focus on the detail implementation between the ODS and the EDW. At the same time put forward on the nonfunctional requirements. Thirdly, in detail implementation of the data warehouse we use ETL technology to complete the data acquisition and data storage. Analysis the various technical details of atomic warehouse model and dimension warehouse model. This paper is not only put forward problems about schedule but also give solutions method. Then we finished the nonfunctional requirements. Finally, we have studied the application on data warehouse, mainly concentrated on report shows. Through analysis of the business support system we give some reports show.Above all, we design and implementation the data warehouse based on the understanding of the business support system. Through establishment of the data warehouse we can effectively improve the data processing ability for telecom enterprise. Enable the enterprise easily uses their business data, and get decision information.
