Design & Application Of Data Model For Enterprise Data Warehouse In Telecom Area

Along with the development of data warehouse and data mining technologies in recent years, all of telecom operators from China have built up their data warehouse system. Especially China Unicom and China Mobile, who have licenses to operate the mobile networks, have their data warehouse system built for longer than five years and their business intelligence has also been improved obviously. Generally, the software developing model of data warehouse project is the spire model. Along with the history data accumulating, users' requirements changing, applications expanding and information technologies development such as DBMS technologies and storage technologies, the enterprise data warehouse systems are urgently need to be improved.Since the data model is the key of the data warehouse, the improvement of the design of data model is the critical point to improve the data warehouse.In this paper, the author will discuss the data modeling in data warehouse and give some principles for enterprise data warehouse building and data modeling in telecom area. The conclusion of the research will be given in the thesis and some suggestions are also provided for future study.
