HMI(Human Machine Interaction) is a display device with touch function for human-computer interaction commonly used in the industrial field. So far various functional parameters tests in the production process of HMI have been conducted manually at large, and such test process has shortcomings such as inefficiency, high omission rate and high defect detection rate, measurement error and incapable of fast data statistics. Therefore, the automatic test system based on computer as the core in the production process of the HMI is a necessity.Based on the actual needs of the users, taking computer as the core and the virtual instrument technology as the foundation, a set of HMI’s function test system of high automatic degree is designed and developed which includes three parts, mechanical fixture, electrical circuit and testing software. In this paper, the methods and achievements in the design and development of the system are summarized. The main contents and achievements are summarized as follows:1. Fully combined with the technical requirements of the users, based on the virtual instrument technology, the overall design of the system is completed. The implementation method of various test items of the HMI is planned and designed, and the corresponding solutions are given.2. On the basis of overall design, the hardware design of the system is completed. The hardware of the system can be divided into two parts: mechanical and electrical, and the electrical part involves the main circuit, the safety protection circuit, the product communication circuit, I/O control circuit and so on.3. With the virtual instrument technology as the frame, the software design of the system is completed. The software of the system realizes the control and scheduling of various kinds of test operation and process of the hardware, and provides a variety of operating modes and software interface to meet the different needs of various operating personnel.The HMI’s function test system designed in this paper has been applied to actual production process, and the operation and test results prove that the system can meet various performance requirements. This paper has some reference value for the application of virtual instrument technology in the HMI related industry.
