With the depth development and the perfect integration of the computertechnology, instrumentation technology and control technology, virtual instrumenttechnology came into being. Virtual Instrument Research of Jilin University aiming atthe direction of the development of modern instruments and using the virtualinstrument technology independently, developed a test system named VirtualElectronic Measuring Instrument Integration System for experimental teaching. Thesystem integrates signal generator, data acquisition and data analysis, and processingfunctions in one. It can be applied in the field of industry measurement and control.Over the past decade, Internet as the representative of computer networktechnology, not only made the smart Internet products come into people's work and life, but also brought unprecedented space for the measurement and instrumentationtechnology. The concept of the instrument comes from the "computer is theequipment" and "software is the instrument" into the "network is the instrument".Using the network technology in the field of virtual instruments is the inevitable trendof the development of virtual instruments.Traditional virtual instrument concentrates the signal acquisition, signal analysisand signal processing on a single computer. Networked virtual instrument breaksthrough the restriction, links the virtual instruments in different computers, externalmonitoring and control equipment, test points, and software into the network, achievesresource sharing. Networked virtual instrument not only can be used to measure, acquire, display and process the relevant physical quantity with the set-up process withall the functions of traditional virtual instrument, also has a network applicationcharacteristics to make authorized users remotely monitor the test site instrumentation, set parameters and get the measurement information at any time and place. This topic was in keeping with this trend, based on the existing resources-JilinUniversity VEMIS system, with the use of network technology and databasetechnology to research and design its network capabilities, aiming to make VEMIS intothe networked virtual instrument system in order to achieve the purpose of remotely controlling instrument, share hardware and software resources and lay the foundationfor the set up of the network virtual electronic measuring instrument laboratory.First, this article briefly describes the VEMIS system and the computer networktechnology, analyzes the hardware and software components of the networked VEMISwith combining the hardware and software architecture of networked virtualinstrument, analyzes and compares three modes of setting up networked virtualinstrument, C/S(Client/Server), B/S (Browser/Server) and the mixed-mode with C/S,B/S. Then, on the basis of existing resouces, proposes a system architectrue consistingof user client, the Internet, servers, equipment client and test equipment based on themixed-mode with C/S, B/S and database technology, analyzes and researchs thenetwork function virtual instrument development platforms LabVIEW, MyEclipse,MySQL and the key technologies DataSocket, Remote Panels, MVC in detail. Finally, with the system functional requirements, proposes the software design andimplementation, including database design, server management web site development, the development and release of the test instrument applications, and networkcommunication to achieve the network function of VEMIS system. The article demonstrates that a user and multi-user can remotelly monitor themeasured objects and control the test instruments through the network function ofVEMIS system with several experimentations, reflecting the advantages of combiningthe network technology and virtualinstrument technology.
