Application Of Virtualization Technology In The Digitalization Of University Library

As the enterprise data center, along with the construction of digital library to accelerate the speed, the library room also encountered new issue. In the process of operation and maintenance, the number of servers every year, spending more and more obsolete equipment funds; more and more equipment, performance bottlenecks; site of tension, power consumption increases; the application server to run perplexing, poor security, management difficult; server utilization situation of uneven distribution, local congestion but the overall utilization rate not high.In recent years, is the virtualization technology into a new development period, the emergence of new technology, many new products, which can extend the application range, advantages gradually reflected. This reference to bring convenience and advantages of virtualization technology, apply it to the construction of digital library, integrated management of these digital resources, and puts forward the solution, in order to improve the efficiency, the purpose of solving the problem.This paper first introduces new challenges encountered in the construction of digital library, the application situation and the domestic university library virtualization technology, and the main technical characteristics of the development process of virtualization technology; then analyzes the application of virtualization technology scheme, scale and technical index, and the migration of virtualization platform selection and virtual machine, proposed infrastructure virtualization platform; after comparing the current market mainstream virtualization technologies and products, and compared the application scenarios, price, technical superiority and deployment difficulty, choose the virtual platform for library use. Then in actual operation, performance, pressure and the whole of virtual platform design of the load test, the test data shows that the virtualization technology greatly reduces the management and operation of the burden, reduce the number of physical servers, reducing the upgrading and soft hardware aging pressure, reach the service of high availability and low fault rate, plays an important role in the construction of digital library.
