Virtualization technology is the core technology research in recent years, which made the dynamic sharing of computer hardware resources be achieved, improves the utilization of computer resources and strengthen the comprehensive management of the server. The technology of real time migration of virtual machine is to transfer and copy a whole virtual machine from a source physical host to another one, which has played an important role in the load balance and disaster recovery.This paper takes Xen as the research platform to study the technology of real time migration of virtual machine. Under high load environment, pre-copy algorithm may emerge a problem that memory page will be delivered repeatedly, which will affect the whole efficiency of migration due to overload migratory data. The exit of bandwidth allocation defects, which will block the migration process and prolong the total migration time, the transmission rate is less than the memory pages’ dirty speed. In this paper, we put forward the improvement and optimization algorithm for the above problems, the main work is as follows:First of all, this paper presents prediction algorithm based on dirty pages, under high load situation, using dynamic exponential smoothing method to predict dirty pages working set, to reduce the transmission of dirty pages. For high-frequency dirty pages, they can be transmitted directly at the last stop copy moment, in order to reduce the time of real migration, and improve transport efficiency.Secondly, this paper proposed an self-adaptive bandwidth allocation algorithm. Under high load situation, the weight factor is used to dynamically adjust the reserved bandwidth in each round of iteration, which can effectively improve the efficiency of the migration.Finally, two optimization algorithms are tested respectively. The superiority of the optimization algorithm in the high load situation is verified, which not only reduces the total migration time, but also improves the performance of the migration.
