With the ever-accelerated development of computer technology, the technology of livevirtual machine migration has become the focus of research in recent years as the most importanttechnology to support cloud computing, it can migrate virtual machines from a physical server toanother without suspending the virtual machines to realize the load balance and ensure thequality of service.Nowadays, howerve, most of the migration framework is centralized, a central managementmodule is responsible for the migration decision of virtual machines, so its breakdown can causefailure of load balancing in the entire data center. In addition, the migration of virtual machinemay stretch across complex network environment which is vulnerable to man-in-the-middleattacks leading to information leakage and tampering of virtual machine, so how to guarantee thesecurity of migrating virtual machines is a problem to be resolved urgently. In view of theproblems referred to above, the paper proposes autonomous virtual machines migrationframework and virtual machine security migration model VMSMM.The main work is as follows:1This paper proposes a autonomous dynamic virtual machine migration framework for loadbalancing based on the idea of ant colony algorithm. The framework does not need centralmanagement module so that servers can achieve autonomous virtual machines migrationavoiding the single point of failure. The migration mechanism of the framework is achievedmaking use of intelligent ants and the ants’ searching radius can be adjusted automaticallyaccording to the load of the system using fuzzy logic reasoning in order to improve the searchingperformance. The virtual machine migration strategy is developed in view of the automomousframework: it divides the servers into four different load state regions according to the load andmakes migration decision based on the servers’ state field; it predicts the load of the serveraccording to the recent monitoring data; it takes the resource requirement and cost into accountcomprehensively in selecting the virtual machine to be migrated.2This paper designs virtual machine secure migration model VMSMM. The security threatsof migrating virtual machines are considered in depth, and in the light of these security threats, this paper provides the secure requirements of migrating virtual machines. The virtual machinesecure secure migration model VMSMM is constructed: a novel vTPM key hierarchy ispresented to guarantee the security of migrating virtual machines; a migration protocol in thismodel is proposed and analyzed formally, the specific operation of the model is designeddetailed.3This paper extends the cloud computing simulative platform CloudSim to achieve theautonomous virtual machine migration framework proposed in this paper. Experiments are carried out in the extended platform to verify the feasibility of this framework. The parameter offramework is setted, and it demonstrates the excellent load banlancing ability by analyzing andcomparing the results of simulation.4The related security modules are added and modified on platform Xen which opens itssource code to achieve the virtual machine secure migration model. Experiments are carried outin the extended platform to verify the feasibility of this framework. It also demonstrates that themodel can enhance the security of migrating virtual machines at the cost of tolerableperformance abasement by analyzing and comparing the results of simulation.
