Acquisition Of Paper Books In University Library Based On Reader Needs

With the development of the Internet, the electronic resources, such as e-books and database, account for a significant proportion in the system of the library collection, which challenge the diversified literature resources construction and the acquisition of paper books in the university library. Optimizing the procedure of the acquisition of paper books and the library collection structure, improving the quality of the acquisition and meeting the reading requirements of the teachers and students are a top priority over the acquisition of paper books.This paper firstly studies the reader needs and the relevant theoretical knowledge. On this basis, the paper aims at finding the defects of the acquisition of paper books, understanding which the university library books can butt the reader satisfaction degree of the book of teachers and students, and finding out the gap between the acquisition and needs of readers. Then the paper builds the system of the acquisition of paper books in university library based on reader needs to optimize the quality level of acquisition and to meet the needs of readers. This model consists of six factors, that is, the literature publish information, the staff, university and subjects information, library collection, readers and book suppliers. At the same time, this paper selects the library of Shanxi University as the example. Through the analysis of the reality of acquiring the Chinese paper books in Shanxi University, the paper summarizes the defect of the traditional acquisition and the shortage with the acquisition of paper books in university library based on reader needs. Then the paper provides the relevant countermeasures. On this basis, this thesis provides a practical research help of the paper books’acquisition in the university library and makes the contribution to enhance the level of scientific education.
