In these days of rapid developments in new media-related technology, digital reading enter into more and more daily life. For libraries, seizing the opportunity in this wave of reading revolution and providing more efficient and more effective service to users, especially to the postgraduate students, present a big issue demanding a hard-working thinking and attempt in this paper.This paper fell into three parts:first of all, in order to grasp the actual situation of the current reader service, an extensive survey shall be conducted on those congenial libraries in the university of 211 project and a pointed investigation of Liaoning University library shall also be synchronized as a typical case. Secondly, the data has been collected from a questionnaire survey among the postgraduate students of Liaoning University, and the reading behavior change trend has been analyzed carefully. Finally, the paper puts forward some user-oriented proposals which based on Liaoning University postgraduate students.The thesis is divided into six chapters:Chapter one focuses on introducing the background and present study of this topic. Chapter two investigates the realities of the situation about Liaoning University library as well as the other universities of 211 project. In the third chapter, the relevant data of reading behavior changes has been obtained from the questionnaire survey. Chapter four has reviewed the reading behavior of university library users in new media era from nine aspects, including the needs of accessing, filtering and retroacting information; the change of reading carriers, reading modality and reading content; and the change of reading preference, reading motivation and auxiliary tools. The fifth chapter put forward four development strategies under the background of the new media-related technology:it is time to optimize the structure of information resources, deepen the work of information resource integration, reinforce the construction of information service platform, and improve the quality of information service staff. Finally, the thesis has been made a generalization, including the shortages and the next step of work.
