Tips and Cuvette as the essential goods of biological laboratory are mainly used to transfer and store experimental reagents. Now in china the wobble-plates automation degree of tips and Cuvette is very low, the wobble-plates of tips and Cuvette is inefficient and prone to missed production detections. In order to solve this engineering problem, this paper adopts machine vision technology to develop a new automatic wobble-plates control system. The research designed automated assembly line of wobble-plates systems based on the industrial control machine and motion control card. The system achieves the automation of the whole production process, including boxes acquisition module, positioning module, detection module, defective goods abandoning, plates wobble module and boxes unloading module, which solves the low speed of wobble-plates and the low accuracy of detecting problems in artificial wobble-plates.The main contents of the paper are as follows.Firstly, according to the needs of customer, building the automatic wobble-plates machine hardware platform, whose core is the industrial control computer, and the paper describes the various aspects of hardware platforms, including hardware frame structure of the whole system.Secondly, developing the software of the whole control system based on the running environment of LabVIEW, including the initial setting module, back to origin position module, boxes acquisition module, defective goods abandon module, wobble-plates module, boxes unloading module, systemic error correcting module and so on. And it achieves the communication between the industrial control computer and servo motors, relays, and other components of communication, so it can control each cylinder, servo motor and the real-time transmission of data with accuracy.Thirdly, according to the requirement of tip-cup quality detecting, based on the analysis of tip-cup’s defect features, putting forward the surface defect detection scheme of tip-cup based on machine vision technology, and then discussing the surface defect features recognition algorithms of tip-cup, by collecting and processing the surface images of tip-cup, the system can determine if it is qualified goods.The results of system operation shows that the machine vision system of automatic wobble-plates machine can achieve the functions of accurate detection, which meets the system’s requirement of time and accuracy. The whole control system has advantages, including the simple structure, the high speed of wobble-plates, the high efficiency of wobble-plates, the strong applicability and so on. And the wobble-plates machine can not only be used to achieve automatic wobble-plates for various sizes of tips and Cuvette boxes, but also has great engineering application value.
