The purpose of this paper is to design an experimental equipment system for pharmaceutical bottle detection which is based on machine vision. The solution we adopted is using PC as the core, then, locating at the position of detected object through transmission motional controlling device, at the end, sending target-image to PC for processing through image collecting equipment like CCD camera and so on. The main task of PC is to implement image processing and analyzing while the main task of transmission motional control device is to control various movements of CCD camera and conveyor belt.The design of this paper has characteristics as follows:1. Proposed a solution of pharmaceutical bottle detecting system based on machine vision, mainly focused on the choice of image acquiring equipment such as CCD camera, lens, image acquiring card, and so on.2. The design of stepping transfer controlling device: using motion controlling card as the core to drive stepping electromotor, control the conveyor belt to move step-by-step, and then send pharmaceutical bottle to detect area, thus achieving the purpose of positioning detected object.3. In window platform, using library functions supplied by image acquiring card and motion controlling card, achieving image collection and motion control governed by VC++.4. Using image processing algorithm to detect defects in pharmaceutical bottle, such as bottle's crack, and other quality problem.
