With the rapid development of science and technology and the continuous improvement of people’s living standard, intelligent, comfortable, convenient and efficient mode of life is more and more recognized. As an important part of household appliances, audio power amplifier also develops gradually to the intelligent, miniaturization and modularization. Infrared remote control, as the main way of non-contact control, is widely used in intelligent control of household appliances.Paper expounds briefly project background, smart home, audio power amplifier remote control development both at home and abroad and the research significance at first. Second, it gives detailed analysis and discussion of the basic theory of power amplifier system, development and classification of the power amplifier, audio power amplifier control system and the basic theory of infrared remote control technology. Then combines with the related theory and respectively designs hardware circuit and software control system of power amplifier remote control system based on FPGA(Field-Programmable Gate Array). Finally, it does simulation test with related modules of hardware and software. In this paper, power amplifier remote control system combines with the advantage of software and hardware and makes full use of FPGA’s control ability on hardware programming to implement the intelligent of the power amplifier control.Power amplifier remote control system designed in this paper includes remote control transmitter, remote control receiver and remote control receiver output control. The first two parts adopt FPGA to replace the infrared remote control application specific integrated circuit, combine with infrared encoding and infrared transmission rules and realize the infrared remote control function through hardware programming. Command key, the FPGA coding control, infrared emission drive as the key, remote control transmitter can complete complex infrared remote control launch that full custom application-specific integrated circuit can’t achieve. Remote control receiver, including infrared receiving circuit, power circuit, display circuit, clocking circuit, reset circuit, configuration circuit and the output driver circuit, achieves the function of infrared signal decoding and output driver. Output control circuit includes remote control of power switch, mute, audio switch, 3D surround sound, equal-loudness and the volume and so on. FPGA control center in receiver outputs pulse signal through the IO port under the program control to drive control circuit to execute instructions.With proteus, quartusII as development platform and software simulation test tool, this paper uses Verilog hardware programming language, tests related modules by using FPGA development board, proteus, saber, adopts Altium Designer and other related tools to simulate and optimize the output control circuit and the performance test. Finally, completes the master’s thesis writing of " Design and implementation of power amplifier remote control system based on FPGA ". Through a series of modules of simulation and system test, the results of simulation and test show that the scheme implements the amplifier infrared remote control based on FPGA.
