Today, as IP-based business and network architectures has become a trend, IP RAN based on IP/MPLS architecture system is becoming the mainstream in bearer network transformation. Since IP RAN combines the functions of transmission and data equipment, command line configuration must be an essential management. Therefore, IP RAN breaks the traditional maintenance and management practices of the operators. Non-graphical command line interface is hard to operate and easy to make mistakes. For operation and maintenance personnel, it has high professional requirements and requires long-term skills training. The change of management will inevitably bring a new challenge.To solve the above problems, this thesis studied IP RAN key technologies and four kinds of NMS framework protocol. Then, compared the advantages and disad vantages of them, proposed the CLI-based IP RAN NMS framework which integrat es the transmission and router network management functions. CLI mode and graph ical management mode is coexistent in this solution. The command line interaction module is used to achieve the directly interaction between the NMS and device. It not only meet the requirement of data device must be equipped with the CLI mode, but also achieved the graphical management by shielding technical differences. The problems brought by the multiple configuration modes and the inconsistency of co nfiguration granularity can be solved in this solution. Finally, through the configurat ion, board auto-discovery and performance capture function testing, the feasibility an d superiority of the CLI-based IP RAN NMS framework is proved.CLI-based IP RAN network management system of this research can be applied to the actual network with IP RAN device. Reducing the difficulty of the operation and improving the efficiency of maintenance can be achieved in this system by its graphical management and better troubleshooting capabilities of the CLI mode.
