Since the 1990 s, with the development of multimedia remote learning, more and more remote laboratories have appeared in a var iety of teaching activit ies. The emergence of remote laboratory, makes it possible to use a computer to remotely control the lab physical device and complete the relevant teaching experiments, brings a breakthrough for the traditional teaching model, and also makes the teaching resources be used in maximized way. On the other side, due to the continuous development of embedded systems, some scholars believe that the current challenge faced by embedded system is no longer a problem of lim ited resources, it should be the interaction between the embedded systems and physical processes. According to this situation, Helen Gill, from NSF, proposes the concept of Cyber-Physical System(CPS). In CPS, embedded systems apperceive physical processes through the sensors, send the collected data to the processing units via the network. Processing units process the data, and control the physical processes through the feedback loop. This process makes the physical process integrate with the embedded systems. This article embarks from the angle of CPS, relies on microcomputer interface remote lab and builds a remote experiment system based on Cyber-Physical System. This system selects Lab8000 experimental box as the physic al laboratory equipment, completes microcomputer interface experiments through remote control. Experimental box communicates with the server computer via serial. User establishes a connection with the server computer via the client computer, sends control commands to the server, controls the experimental programs compiling, debugging and programming process. Meanwhile, the client controls the experimental box’s hardware experiment process, keeps up with experimental box in real-time according to the results of real-time video and experimental results, forms a feedback loop. In this system, the server supports multi-user to control the box at the same time. Besides, the client supports virtual experiments. Therefore, the system implements a remote experiment system which combines virtual and reality. As a simple CPS, this system uses the heartbeat packet, encryption and other methods to ensure the reliability and safety. This system provides a platform for further study on the details of CPS.The main work done by this paper includes:(1) Introduce the present situation of the development of remote laboratory and CPS. Introduce the main content and significance of microcomputer interface remote experiment system based on cyber-physical system architecture.(2)Research the typical characteristics of CPS, compare the traditional remote laboratory and the remote experiment system based on cyber-physical system. Design and implement key technology programs: remote control, network communications, multi-tasking, virtual experiment platform, remote compilation.(3) Research on the system functional requirements, analyze the overall design scheme : architectural design of server and client. Identify hardware according to the needs and build hardware environment.(4) Partition the software module of server and client. Design and implement server and client, include the communication between the server and Lab8000, network communications, mult i-client task scheduling, video capture and receive, remote compilation, virtual experiment platform etc.(5) Design and implement the system remote experiments. Describe the principle, the selection of experimental resources, experimental wiring. Write and test the software program.(6)Carry on the system unit test and integration test. Analyze the test results. Verify whether the system meets the needs.
