The Research And Development Of Web-based Control System Laboratory

Web-based distance education is a new mode of education developed from the high technologies including computer, multimedia and network communication. However, the distance experiment teaching is always the bottleneck problem in the distance education. Therefore the research of web-based laboratory is quite significant.Based on the analysis, summarize and classify of web-based experiment system and their literature at home and abroad, a web-based control system laboratory (WCS-Lab), which is a combination of virtual experiment and remote experiment, is brought forward and realized. At present, every subsystem of WCS-Lab has been developed. By accessing WCS-Lab website, users can not only do some simulations but also watch and control pilot plants in a real laboratory in the university anytime and anywhere. The framework of this thesis is arranged as follows:At first, a comprehensive analysis of feasibility including reliability and stability of WCS-Lab is presented. Detailed design about the hardware and software framework of WCS-Lab and functions of every subsystem are introduced.Then, the framework of virtual experiment subsystem of WCS-Lab is presented. Some representative virtual experiments for automation are developed. The experiments include DC motor control, chemical reactor control and treble inverted pendulum control.After that, hardware and software architecture of remote experiment subsystem of WCS-Lab is designed and realized. RLab Server, program of S7-300 PLC and video control system are developed for remote experiment subsystem. And taking PID control experiment and fuzzy-PID control experiment for example, detailed development of remote experiment isgiven.Finally, a brief summary of this thesis and some advice about further development for WCS-Lab are advanced.
