The Investigation Of Library Websites Construction Of The Backbone Universities In Hebei Province

The process of informatization of contemporary society is accelerating, rapid advance of information and network technique have greatly changed people’s information behavior, which includes people how to get, transfer and use information. In order to adapt to the informatization of society, university libraries build their own library websites as an important step.As an important and special component of Chinese library system, university library system assumes more responsibility about assisting education and research work, therefor, building library website not only provides university a way to strengthen interaction with readers and improve its service, but also promotes the development of Chinese teaching and research career. Meanwhile, university library website can be a good showcase to advertise university’s image and feature. What is more,building university library websites lay a good foundation for the digital library.This paper based on the results of previous studies, Integrates several appropriate evaluation index systems, and according to a unified standard to survey and analysis several Backbone university library websites of Hebei province objectively. The survey involves several aspects, such as information architecture,service capability,electronic resources construction,etc. This paper is composed of six chapters.The first chapter is introduction. This part discusses the undergraduate and significance of this research, and generalizes the research status of library website evaluation method and the construction of university library website. This part also expounds research contents, research methods and innovation points of this paper.The second chapter is the theoretical basis university library website construction. This part is about the theoretical background of this research, and the characteristics of university library website.The third chapter is research of university library website evaluation. This part discusses the connotation and principle of university library website evaluation. What is more important is that an evaluation index system is proposed, which is based on consulting many literatures.The fourth chapter is the investigation about present construction of Backbone university library websites in Hebei province. According to the evaluation index and standard in the previous chapter, this part surveys and analyses the Backbone university library website in Hebei province, and reflects the real construction level of the Backbone university library website in Hebei province.The fifth chapter is the problems existing in the library website construction of the backbone university in Hebei province. This part summarizes problems having been found in the previous investigation, hoping to be improved in the future.
