The Design And Implementation Of The Network Management System Based On SNMP And Web

The computer network has already gone through all areas of human society, and the Network Management plays an important role in Network working. So developing an efficient Network Management System with an available function is an important issue during Network Building.SNMP is a network management framework with the greatest advantages of its simple design, its convenient operation and its great scalability, and is applied to the management of the TCP/IP network and its devices widely nowadays. SNMP has gone through several versions, poses an integrity theory gradually, and has become the actual industry standard in Network Management and the representative and mainstream of the modern Network Management.Meanwhile, it would solve some problems in the traditional SNMP network management based on C/S model by applying the Web technology to network management area. The network management system developed by combining SNMP and Web could commit network management personnel to manage the network by using web browser, so as to make the network management more efficient and more convenient.This paper introduces the concept, the basic model, the architecture, the basic function and the protocol of Network Management, analyses the developing history and the management structure of SNMP, sets forth the three components of SNMP which are SMI, MIB and the SNMP protocol, presents the concept, the advantages and the scheme of WBM which is Web-based Management. Above that, this paper designs a network management system structure based on SNMP and Web considering the need of the actual project. This structure contains five parts which are the SNMP Communication module, the Data Storage module, the Network Management function module and the Interface Presentation module, also carries out the five system functions which are the topology management, the configuration management, the business management, the alarm management and the system management. Then, the paper recommends the implementation of the five modules in detail and presents the interface in part.At present, the design and implementation of this system has already been finished, and it can manage the network and its devices using SNMP by handling the web Interface. Both its function and its performance meet the demand, and it has been delivered to the user, which gets a good feedback. At last, the conclusion and prospect of this paper is given.
