| According to the Theory of Public Goods, Maritime Silk Road Museum of Guangdong isa kind of quasi-public good. It has a mission to develop the museum industry, public cultureindustry and to improve the national comprehensive quality. Because of storing Nanhai No.1,the first ancient shipwreck that found in the South China Sea, Maritime Silk Road Museum ofGuangdong has drawn the public attention. But how is its public usage doing and how toimprove its public usage? It is a question that the Maritime Silk Road Museum of Guangdongshould think about and the starting point of this paper.This paper analyzes the attribute of Maritime Silk Road Museum of Guangdong first.And then it describes the basic information of investigation of Maritime Silk Road Museumof Guangdong’s public usage, including the purpose, method and object. The result ofinvestigation has been analyzed as well as the problems and reasons. In the end, inspired bythe public usage strategies of civil and foreign museums, this paper suggests the measures ofimproving public usage, including adjusting the fee, improving the exhibition, acceleratingthe excavation, strengthening the building of digital museum, accelerating the development ofcultural product.Since there is not so much research of museum from the perspective of PublicEconomics as well as the research of Maritime Silk Road Museum of Guangdong, this paperis hoped to provide to a new perspective for the research of museum and to give suggestionfor the improvement of public usage of Maritime Silk Road Museum of Guangdong. |
