Multimedia Technology Applied To The Universe Of Water Museum Complex In ST. Petersburg

The introduction of multimedia and interactive technologies in the museum space- is a topic increasingly gaining popular ity. Every day the media technologies playing a big role in our lives. One of the priorities of such technologies have become the innovative multimedia museums and exhibition centers. The latest audiovisual solutions and technology equipment of museums and modern entertainment centers allowed to implement hi-tech projects, such as a 3D video projection shows that create a magical, unforgettable visual-reality. My work devoted to the introduction of multimedia technology in museums and use of such technologi es on the example of the museum complex The Universe of Water in St. Petersburg.Vodokanal is an old water tower, which has been a symbol of St. Petersburg for a long time. In addition to the impressive appearance of the building, the tower is notable for the fact that it has recently located the museum complex The Universe of Water. Extensive and fascinating exhibition placed in a water tower and a room that once served as the city’s main reservoir waterworks. Today, both adults and children enjoy visiting three exhibitions of the museum complex, which are equipped with the most modern technology and, importantly, a number of exhibitions are interactive. Exhibition environment is in a constant motion, it is changing as the water itself. To immerse the viewe r in the water world, there multimedia technologies help a lot- video, audio, images and graphics, replacing each other in the space, as well as real objects that you can touch. They illustrate what one see and hear, making the experience all the organs of perception of the subject of water.I decided to create a virtual projection show on the image of facade of the museum complex Universe of Water in St. Petersburg. Such idea to design a virtual projection show came to me after watching videos with amazin g projection shows and light shows on buildings. Projection mapping, in other words, video mapping,- a form of media art, when audiovisual masterpiece projected onto a building or any other irregular-shaped object. I use the image of a museum and revitalize it with a virtual projection show. It makes the complex play with new colors, effects and it tells the audience about the water in the interesting way. To do this, the Adobe After Effects software has been used. Final video based on several images, vide o and animation, with special effects and music. Thus, the projection show completely transform the facade of the virtual museum complex, turning it into a screen on which displayed our video clip, moving images, visual effects, and all this is accompanied by music. The main idea of my project "Water- the basis of all life on Earth", the beauty and elegance of the water, as well as its incredible properties. It is equally important to choose the right color scheme, which also helps to emphasize the architecture of the buildings, highlight certain details and to make the show even more colorful and unique.
