Since the start of the 21st century, thanks to the sustained and rapid economic growth, Chinese people's living standard and purchasing power has been largely improved, and China's auto industry has also experienced a fast development. As the government keeps issuing policies to stimulate auto consumption, personal car market has already become a major consumer group. Meanwhile, the Internet has become one of people's main accesses to information. Thus, more and more people go to the automobile web sites to learn, focus on, research and even buy cars. However, on the one hand, the current status of the domestic automobile vertical websites has a large number of users; on the other hand, the user evaluation of their satisfaction is not high. One reason leading to this situation is the existence of various usability problems of automobile vertical websites. Therefor, it is necessary to study domestic automobile vertical website usability to improve this situation.Currently at home and abroad, there are few researches regarding usability of automobile vertical websites. From the perspective of website users, the paper establishes a domestic automobile vertical websites usability evaluation index system based on the user investigation, and then the index system is modified and given weight according to expert investigation. In order to understand the status of the usability of automobile vertical websites, and to further validate the feasibility and rationality of the evaluation index system, the paper designs an experiment to evaluate website usability of four Chinese automobile verticals websites. Based on the analysis of experimental data, some recommendations are proposed for usability design of domestic automobile vertical website.
