The multi-bands fusion imaging technology is widely researched in the imagery guidance of military applications, which improves the performance of target detection and overcomes the limit of single-band imaging system by using the complementary information from different spectrum bands. Moreover, the real time signals processing method as well as system design is the key technologies. Focused on the signal processing of optical and infrared image, designs issues of a signal processor are presented in this thesis.Firstly, the features of optical imaging and infrared imaging are analysesed. Then the principals and the data processing flows of the optical and infrared fusion image are reviewed. Furthermore, a scheme of the processing system to meet the requirement of a hybrid imagery guidance application is proposed. In addition, functions of hardware and software are assigned, and the main devices of signal processor are chosen, as well as the develop environment is introduced.Secondly, the design procedure of the signal processor is detailed according to the scheme proposed. With the power consumption, processing speed and the data scale of each part are put into account, we optimized the modules design of power supply, EMIF interface, boot load ROM and large scale DDR interface etc, and the diagram and PCB are also designed and verified.Lastly, the initialization procedure is provided, and the program self-boot and secondary loading technologies are proposed as an important part of the signal processor.Experiments results based on a DSP DSK board verified the effective and robustness of the proposed technology. The designed signal processor can correctly power on and load the application software, thus be used in the guidance system of optical and infrared image fusion.
