Building An Enterprise Information Portal Based On Sharepoint 2010

With the information technology developed rapidly and applied widely, more and more enterprises attached great importance to the enterprise information. It is actually a double-edged sword which can either bring a lot of benefits or brings new challenges. The outstanding challenges are as follows: the efficiency in information sharing and collaborative work is low, the enterprise data or information security and reliability cannot guarantee, business and office software can’t be integrated and reconstructed well, and etc. To solve these problems, enterprises need a functional Information Portal system-- EIP(Enterprise Information Portal), which can integrate different and independent systems to make full use of information resources and contribute to the high efficient and collaborative goal. Therefore, the best choice for enterprises to build EIP system solutions must be reliable, mature, open-ended and extensible, however, Microsoft Portal solution is just so.Microsoft Portal solution, based on Microsoft SPS as the core platform, is a complete and integrated platform. Depending on the services and functions of document management, search engine, and single sign-on, the data in the enterprise personnel, information and business systems are linked closely, which can maximize the potential of enterprise.In this thesis, we just take the EIP platform technology in China International Marine Containers(group) co., LTD.(CIMC)as a good example to introduce how to construct an information portal clearly and deeply. In the first part, the concept of the EIP, the characteristics and the history of EIP development are presented, as leads up to the realistic significance of the construction of EIP system naturally. Highly integration and quick response are essential.How to construct the EIP platform technology in CIMC is the core content of my paper. We must follow the basic principles of comprehensive integration and collaborative sharing. The application of the modular Web parts in a flexible way can integrate the group portal, enterprise portal, the portal project, office, document center, report forms and enterprise search content an a unity. Based on SSO(single sign-on service), a collaboration of different previous and current business systems are integrated. By Lync instant messaging and SMS platform, an information portal system is built in the environment of Internet.In the last part, the implementation the EIP platform technology in CIMC and the reactions or feedback are summarized, and we put forward the introduction of the workflow engine to improve the EIP platform. In addition, the prospective of EIP technology application is forecasted.
