Virtual learning community is built on top of the network communication technology, with network communication tool by many individual members, through teaching, research and other activities. Currently, the Virtual Learning Community electronic resource sharing degree is low, community building reuse rate is low, the lack of active interaction with the system functions, To solve these problems, the paper presents a SharePoint-based virtual learning community, it is a allows teachers to quickly and easily allocation of any electronic document for anyone as learning resources. This paper discusses the concept of virtual learning communities and introduce the SCORM standard as resource format. Then article analyed the functional modules of the system from the overall design of the system, then select the fit architecture by comparing two software architecture, and according the layer of ideological, analyed the function of each layer in the software architecture and related technologies,on this basis, according the normative of software engineering, analyed detailed needs of each module, given the detailed design of each module and the main function of each module, then given each function flow chart. Last, implement the major features of the system, and then make a experimental deployment on the SharePoint platform, then tested system function from the view point of teachers, students and system manager.Overall, this study emploied sharepoint and SCORM solved the current problems in the development of virtual learning communities and provided a new way of thinking and provided a useful reference for using SharePoint platform to build applications in the Virtual Learning Community.
