On the design of mixed material of Highway Asphalt Pavement, selecting different types of graded plays a decisive role on the type of structure and the technical nature of the composition of the asphalt mixture. However, in the asphalt production process, there is no test of the aggregate level of mixed with rapid, which could cause deviation of gradation of the actual production and design gradation. Therefore, the aggregate gradation of mixed needs test online. By the use of techniques of digital image processing and analysis in this paper, the automatic detection algorithms of mixing floor aggregate gradation of mixing production process are studied, and its implementation. This article describes the process for gradation detection algorithm of image processing and analysis of image data obtained from the state fell during the image acquisition system,de-noising to remove background noise, to split after binarization, then obtain the image data of the aggregate particles. Then do the calculation of the minimum boundary size characteristics and other characteristics on the basis of aggregate particles, then, with analytical methods of the traditional principles, compared to determine where the size range to use characteristics of the size of standard sieve and calculate the aggregate particle, after calculating of the relevant parameters, namely the percentage points of the cumulative sieve residue and the percentage meter screen and by percentage.Through the test of laboratory and field site to prove the feasibility and correctness of the ideas and methods used in this paper, the results can be correctly expressed the distribution and variation of aggregate gradation, and become stable with the calculation of a certain number of images.
