With 30 years of reform and opening up, China’s economy has made remarkable developments, the people’s living standards having been greatly improved, social and cultural life being increasingly rich and colorful, the publishingindustry belongings to cultural undertakings having achieved rapid development. China has now a big publishing country, not a small publishing country to from the all points of views: publishing’s number, varieties, direction or types. The improvement of the publishing environment satisfies greatly all the people’s reading needs, but to the publishing institutions who pursuit of social and economic benefits, it also brings more competitions. This means that you want a good book to stand out from the mass books market, you must face more challenges, greater pressure and risk.In comparison to the risk management theory widely used in the international context, our risk management’s research and application starts later. After years of development, the risk management theory has made great achievements, with the trades involved becoming increasingly diverse. But in the publishing industry with a short history, we hardly use the risk management approaches on the book.This present article starts with the actual market demand and necessity for Class A market book’s risk management, analyses the specific process of risk management, the method of risk identification, prevention and counteractions during the publishing of Class A market book, with guidance of the basic theory of risk and risk management, and uses the real data of the book "A Security Guard Admitted Beijing University" to explain the viabilities of risk management in the publishing process of Class A market book.This article consists of four parts:The first part introduces the research background, purposes and significances, and notes the research status national and international of risk management issues as well as the same issues for Class A market book, also points out the research methods possible to use and the general research framework.The second part suggests theoretically the whole process of risk management during the publishing of Class A market book, and explains the risk’s meaning, the risk management’s nature and general process, as well as the content of risk management for Class A market book, the types and features of this risk. As for the discussion, the views of certain experts are used in this part, laying the solid theoretical foundation for the writing of this article.The third part makes a complete analyses for the general process of risk management during the publishing of Class A market book, and specifies the risk management’s identification, evaluation, prevention and avoid means in the course of publishing the Class A market book, also uses the methods like expert investigation, causal analyses and table checking to explain the risk identification’s means, and the methods such as empirical estimation, equivalent assessment and step analyses to assess efficiently the risk of every section and provide the effective means for preventing and evading the risk. All of this offers certain guidance for the staff serving for the publishing of the Class A market book.The fourth part bases on the data of publishing the book "A Security Guard Admitted Beijing University", having certain theoretical and practical significances for the empirical study to the risk management during the publishing and detailed description of the measures and means respond to the risk.
