To meet the requirement of enhancing the management of materials, the company made a request for developing a material management system.The management system performs an all-round management through material requirements planning, contract signing, funds application, contract payment, material in-storage and delivery, contract enforcement, contract settlement with the statistical analysis of the implementation, and material equipment accounting querying, linked by construction projects and contracts. guide the user through data entry and query operations, maximize the material support of construction by providing effective information to the decision-makers. The target user of this system is mostly the staff involved in managing materials.The design of the system is to enable the approval process, contains the inventory, transfer, approval and settlement of contracts, through workflow technology. The system takes advantage of the powerful function of data import and export for data input and output. The powerful function of the system is capable of importing existing data from Excel into the system directly or forming a statistics report by export data from system to Excel in the format set by user. The B/S structure and Internet/Intranet technology were utilized for tele-working, and Object Oriented Analysis and Design(OOA&D) was applied to guarantee the normalization, portability, reliability and the developing efficiency of the system software and database. The system is of strong scalability by using Workflow technology, which can be adjusted by administrator according to the change of management content or the adjustment of departments and agencies. The application of We Service technology make the data exchange safety and stable. The use of Web document management technology associate the data with the document that bring them together as one.The design procedure of such a system is based on the principles of “Global Planning, User-Driven, Highly Customized and Phased Implementation”.
